HAA Presents Grants to Alabama Woodworkers Guild and Hoover Library

Hoover Arts Alliance presented a check to the Alabama Woodworker’s Guild at their annual show at the Hoover Library. We are proud to support this very talented group this year, our president Carolyn Kolar presented a check to Terry James.
The photos below show some of the Woodworkers’ beautiful works. Over the past year, they built 66 desks for Habitat for Humanity students during Covid. They build the kitchen cabinets inside Habitat homes. They make and donate thousands (15,000) toys to Children’s Hospital and other organizations. The group includes male and female members ages 18 and up. They have a large workshop near Maylene which is available to their members with a $100 yearly membership fee.

We were also happy to present a check to Matina Johnson for use in their gallery exhibits, specifically designated for artist receptions. An exhibit is now on display at City Hall again.
