It was so gratifying to see co-founder of Hoover Arts Alliance, Linda Chastain, be honored by A Heart for the Arts Mayor’s Ball (along with two other amazing and very deserving recipients) for her commitment to championing support for the arts in Hoover for many, many years. It was a beautiful thing to see Mayor Derzis, his wife Stephanie Lansden Derzis, and city council members Robin Shultz and Dr. Casey Middlebrooks, along with Tracy True Dismukes there presenting these awards and showing their commitment to seeing the arts become more of a priority in Hoover. Also, our board member, Sandra Fuller Art, was honored with an inaugural award presented in her name to Hoover arts educator Gene Ferreiro. Matina E. Johnson, another treasure in the Hoover arts world, did an amazing job telling Linda’s many contributions to our city. The first photo is of current members of the Hoover Arts Alliance board.
